Exergaming in a Commercial Environment

Page history last edited by Brett W.M.Young 8 mos ago

Factors that make good Exergames in a 'commercial' sense have quite specific requirements that differentiate it from casual play or 'out of the box' play. Commerical Exergaming should supply the customer/member/client etc a 'true' fitness experience commensurate with their fitness and wellbeing requirements. Determining factors are:

Compelling - inherent 'play' longevity & challenging (self or multiplayer competitiveness)

Scaleable - Able to ramp up or down intensity as required.

Load times - shorter the better (to keep clients HR in their target zone)

Flexible - ideally the game should 'level' to any age, fitness or functional demographic,

Intuitive - short learning curve for the 'games actions' and 'games menu navigation'.

Fun - 'Serious Fun'
